“The Gift” This was the week where we started to see some just desserts being served, a rare enough thing in Game of Thrones – though I suspect they aren’t the ones the audience was hoping to dine on after last week. After the tectonic upheaval of Sansa’s rape, it […] Read more
And thus, the fellowship was made complete… Sunday suppertime is definitely the epicentre of the anime week in Japan for a change, at least if you’re looking for consistent quality. Kekkai Sensen airs at three in the morning Sundays, but if you have only one hour to have the TV […] Read more
Perfect sports anime – 100.00%. That’s how you do it, right there. There have been a few episodes of Baby Steps that have been the perfect storm – everything comes together and the result leaves you breathless and completely riveted (the way only great sports anime can). This is one […] Read more
I’ve heard of self-loathing, but this is ridiculous. Sidonia no Kishi: Daikyuu Wakusei Seneki – 07 For a Sidonia episode with this much comedy in it, this week’s effort was surprisingly good. In fact I’d wager to say it was about the best yet in terms of humor, though parts […] Read more

Welcome to the most dangerous suburb in Japan. I don’t know where Mamiya Sakura lives, but I would strongly advise Japanese parents not to move there with their children – it’s a minefield. Seriously – freak accidents, curses, fatal illnesses… The place must have been built on an ancient burial […] Read more
Now this is what I signed up for with Daiya no A. What was that I heard Furuya saying from the dugout again? Oh, that’s right – not a fucking thing, because he could never be bothered to offer a word of encouragement to a teammate, much less when his […] Read more
