Manga Recommendation Corner Episode 1 – Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou

It’s an exciting moment for Lost in Anime.  My first ever YouTube video is here, and the topic is one near and dear to me – manga.  Specifically, Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou – one of the finest manga ever written in my view, and a timeless masterpiece.  I have big hopes for the video channel, and I plan to make manga recommendations a regular part of it.   Please comment either here or at the LiA YouTube channel – and of course, I’d be extremely grateful if you like and subscribe!

Good luck. Don’t know what your strat is regarding getting views, but imo the best way to get views is to focus a lot on what is currently trending in anime. Not saying don’t focus on the niche though.

  2. That’s a balance I’m going to have to figure out.

  3. Awesome, I always love seeing new channels come up. As someone who also started a channel with some friends a few years ago, the best advice I can give is to have a relatively consistent schedule. Regardless, I subscribed and will be listening in. Good luck!

  4. Thanks very much. I’m going to try and be as consistent as I can, with manga recommendations at the very least. The issue is that even short and minimally-produced videos take much longer to create than a post here, so reality is going to have its say regarding how often I can release on YT.

Wow, I certainly did not see it coming. I’m ashamed to say that I have not read this series or watched this series, but isn’t this series known for being the prototypical slice of life series 😀 In any case you just gave me the push I needed. I’ll watch the series then read your review.

  6. I strongly, strongly recommend you read the manga in its entirety before watching the OVAs. They offer, at best, a fleeting taste of the brilliance of YKK.

YKK’s wild mass guessing page on TV Trope is a trove of interesting discussions.
So many things left unexplained, I want to know what the author meant by several things.

  8. I’m not sure he knows himself, TBH. Sometimes writing is just a Rorschach Test for the author.
