See Manglobe, this is why people get pissed off at you right here. I hardly know where to begin talking about that episode, to be honest. The first 20 minutes were great, but that’s like saying the 20’s were a great decade except for the whole Great Depression thing at […] Read more
My one word reaction to how that finished: Uwah! Well now, it’s not too often in anime that I’m as surprised – and pleasantly too – as I was by the final few moments of Working!!!. About how the series would be ending I didn’t know much, except that I […] Read more
That was an ending that highlighted both this series’ charm, and its limitations. I really don’t think there’s any other way Ore Monogatari could have ended, or perhaps even should have ended. So I’m not disappointed with this finale in any significant way. But at the same time, you can’t […] Read more
Bear with me – I just need a minute… Well, this was a pretty sad day for Baby Steps fans. In my case it wasn’t the result of Ei-chan’s match with Nabae, because of course I knew that was coming. But the lack of an announcement at the end of […] Read more
In the end Joukamachi no Dandelion didn’t offer up too many surprises, but that’s by no means strictly a bad thing. You know, expectations are merely prejudices when you strip away all the artifice. Did Joukamachi no Dandelion live up to mine? Did it surpass them? It doesn’t really matter […] Read more
How can I possibly start my final Mushishi post ever with anything except “Thank you”? OP Sequence: I just need a minute, I’ll be fine. Honest. I put off watching “Suzu no Shizuku” for quite some time. Part of it was going through a very busy patch and not wanting […] Read more
So ends a real head-scratcher of a season for Sidonia no Kishi. In many ways, I’m at a loss to explain Daikyuu Wakusei Seneki. There was an awful lot of plot drift here – in fact, I’d go so far as to say the entire cour could easily have been […] Read more
How fitting that a Fate/Zero character best sums up my feelings about the last arc of UBW. But why rub it in? I can’t say it any better than Waver did, so I won’t beat it into the ground. And truth be told I said pretty much everything I needed […] Read more
Somehow, it seems only fitting for Punchline to end with an episode that leaves me totally exasperated. I’ll cut to the chase: I hated the way Uchikoshi ended this series. And that’s despite the fact that I smelled it coming for several episodes and wasn’t remotely surprised by it. But […] Read more
Sanzoku no Musume Ronja elicits a staggering range of thoughts and emotions in me. Which, ironically, is almost the exact same lead-in I used in my First Impressions post – though I’d totally forgotten that fact when I began this one. First and foremost, I think it should be noted […] Read more
