Fair or not, anime are always graded on a curve. And it’s a tough week for Aldnoah.Zero. Let me start out by saying I really didn’t this this was a bad finale. Technically it was solid, the action sequences were (as ever) terrific, and the pacing was fine. It was […] Read more
Did you really expect anything less from Death Parade? This is one of those shows that imposes the risk of having already said too much for me as a blogger. I mean, over the course of eleven episodes (and Death Billiards) I’ve laid out my feelings about this series and […] Read more
Hope can be the cruelest thing of all. Is Spring of 2015 the season when anime finally emerges from the long, dark tea-time of the soul that’s enshrouded it over the last couple of years? There’s reason to believe it’s possible, but to me, this is a season that has […] Read more
I don’t know what stunned me more – that final episode, or the reaction to it. Author’s Note: Given the obvious gap between anime and manga events, please refrain from posting manga spoilers in the comments even if the anime has concluded. Many of us plan to read it in […] Read more

Daichi Akitarou faces an awfully big challenge next week, but if anyone is up to it, you’d imagine it would be him. Kamisama Hajimemashita finds itself in a different position to most of the best series ending this season. There’s the question of a sequel, from the almost-definitely (Yowamushi Pedal) […] Read more
Considering how great the episode was, this really sucks… I knew Nabeshima-sensei was going to do it, but it was still a swift kick in the nuts when the credits rolled. Now it’s like you DVR’d (I almost said “taped”) the Super Bowl, and have to wait a week to […] Read more
Next week had damn well better be worth the wait. Diamond no Ace – 74 As is too often the case with Daiya no A lately, we have to be patient through an awful lot of twaddle to get to the good stuff. And this time around we didn’t even […] Read more
