My Taste is Better Than Yours Episode 67 – Hailed Anime Adaptions

Having taking anime to task for all the adaptations that dropped the ball (I considered several other more colorful turns of phrase there), I thought it was only right to give equal time. All the wonderful anime adaptations that not only did the source material proud but improved on it deserve to be singled out too – and it’s much more fun to talk about those. That said Samu and I disagree pretty hard about some of these – but hey, that can be fun, too.

Thank you guys for another episode.

It’s always fun to disagree with the both of you; I couldn’t get through the Aku no Hana anime back in the day, but I did read the manga after dropping the anime, and it was magnificent. Recently re-read it in Japanese and it was even better. My only complaint, really, which I’m surprised Samu didn’t touch on is how the artwork completely changes halfway through the series from uniquely ugly to boringly normal.

  2. A series that very few seem to be lukewarm about in either direction, in manga or anime form.

There’s also a film and now a Netflix series, I hear.
