As a gattai of the Enzo Loves Manga series and a Bespoke project, this is either Episode 8 (the first in quite a while) or Episode 1, depending on how you count. As for the subject, well – no one who knows much about me is unaware of my long-standing affection for Katsuki Hikaru’s Baby Steps. June 16, 2026 at 2:02 amIt’s real! It’s real! So much fun discussing this Enzo. Somehow we discussed here for nearly an hour, an earlier time for nearly an hour, and I still feel like there was so much more we could have discussed. Truly a great series. There are no cheat powers with Baby Steps, just a newbie tennis player slowly growing into a full pro and building an incredible tennis game. If shounen super power series had as much care and thought put into how their characters gain strength the way Katsuki puts care into Maruo’s growth as a tennis player, those shounen super power series would be so much better for it.
PS I just finished reading Dungeon Meshi last night and I cannot wait to read your episodic breakdowns of that one when the second anime season finally arrives.
