Back to the wonderful world of manga with Yugami-kun ni wa Tomodachi ga Inai, one of the best school comedies around. I love everything about this series except that it never got an anime adaptation…
I love this manga. I collected 4 volumes and then my publisher stopped… Yugami is an interesting character, and for a ‘loner’ type of character doesn’t felt stereotypical.
I wonder why it never got anime adaptation…the material is soo good. Maybe because Shogakukan shonen manga can’t catch a break when it comes to anime.
I mean, some got it, but still many underrated manga that is worthy for adaptation..
I’ve seen it theorized that Yugami-kun is too “normal” a manga to get adapted. It doesn’t have enough of a hook, there’s no magic and no monsters and not that much sports or romance. It doesn’t neatly fit into any box production committees see as “anime”.
