It’s a fantastic time to be an anime fan. But an exhausting one to be an anime blogger. OP2: “departure! -second version-” by Masatoshi Ono With episode 27 the Heaven’s Tower Arc finally begins – and with it we get a new OP and ED (though the OP is only […] Read more
It’s the second recap episode this week, and the question you may be asking is, “Do I need to watch it?” Not really – there isn’t much new footage, but there are a few small pleasures. It’s always nice to hear Han Keiko (Gon’s Mom playing Gon’s sort-of Mom) and […] Read more
It seems funny to have to say something that should be so obvious, but this episode really made me realize how much I missed having Killua around. With Chihayfuru in the rear-view (toss a coin, bow twice and clap twice for a second season) it’s nice having Hunter x Hunter […] Read more
Between Hunter X Hunter and Chihayafuru, Madhouse is having one amazing season. I don’t know if I’ll put it on a par with its Spring of five years ago with Oh! Edo Rocket and Dennou Coil, but it’s damn close. There’s certainly no shounen out there quite like H x […] Read more

While it’s no secret that any episode that looks closely at Killua’s soul is going to go to a very dark place, I was surprised by the way the remainder of the hunter exam’s final phase played out. For me, Killua has always been the saddest character of all the […] Read more
Gon is GAR. That is all. I thought Hunter X Hunter was going to have a rough time equaling the epic power and intensity of the blockbuster episode 16, but this week’s effort might just have done it. And the fact that it did so while featuring a character – […] Read more
