Coincidences are funny things. I can’t remember the last time the chupacabra myth came up in a conversation for me, but it so happened that this morning a colleague of mine at work mentioned that there had been a slate of chupacabra sightings in Chicago, and asked (in jest) if I’d seen anything. Now as it happens, when I looked into the reported “sightings” (there have been almost a hundred) this is actually more of a Mothman thing – but still.
- As short intro (or outro) pieces go, I definitely prefer the UMA gag to “Cavematsu”.
- Plus, any excuse for Iyami sightings is a positive thing.
- “The Jar” was pretty much classic Osomatsu-san pointlessness, but I enjoyed it. Not every sketch has to go the gross-out route to be funny.
- Jyuuushimatsu’s “convince it you don’t care and sneak up on it” was definitely the highlight moment for me.
- Karamatsu as a taxi driver… It fits, somehow.
- This gag is sort of built around the conceit that as in London, Tokyo cabbies are rather renowned for their encyclopedic knowledge – which in Tokyo they have to be, because addresses are effectively meaningless and straight-line streets virtually non-existent.
- “Swingers bar” – I hope he realizes that’s not flattering.
- “Totty’s New Year’s Quiz” was the winner this week for pure laughs, I think. Love the Statue of Liberty headgear.
- Clear ROFL moment of the week was when the five older brothers split up on the “which one is sexier” comment, and two of them got pins (though we’re never literally told whether it was buns or sticks, one can hazard a guess).
- Poor Choromatsu – they just won’t let it go…
- Sex. It’s pretty much always about sex.

January 20, 2018 at 4:12 pm– Last time I stumbled on chupacabras in anime was in Sekimatsu Occult Gakuen I think. How time flies :,) .
– Chupacabra udon spotted in the cupboard in the jar skit! Jyushi’s jar deception was the fav bit for me too. But yeah I’ve dealt with ‘ real men open jars with their bare hands ‘ situations before and I ended being the one to open jars for dem macho menZ with my dainty little fingers. Btw just not to take anything for granted… when warm water does not suffice you can also slide and push the tip of the handle of a spoon under the lid as a lever until you hear a little pop. It’s a classic for stubborn jam jars… :PPPPPPP and in a plot twiast of genius not even their mother managed in spite of Saint Seiya Mommy Juju (well… apples, tree ) XDDD .
– I was almost starting to worry mah nasty manipulative gal Totoko had been swapped with a pod person there. Whew. All the ironic overuse of freeze frames was love. So very Karamatsu. All my rapeseed to you dorky disco ball doutei!
– The Liberty Statue tiara/fascinator suits Totty :°D also the Choro dye job dig lives!
