This sort of thing is especially important in an all-boys school, you know…
I was worried about Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-bu Love! having “legs” comedically speaking, but if anything the series seems to actually be getting better. Last week’s episode was great, and for me this was the best so far without a doubt – truly hilarious start to finish, and the satire was razor-sharp.
- An entire episode dedicated to male moe? Given the themes of this series and what it’s satirizing, it could hardly be more natural.
- Yunaga Tsubasa as the glasses boy, Megawa (“It’s glasses”) Rui? Perfect. There’s a good deal of self-mockery in his performance, too, and it – and the character – nail every element of this stereotype (and gives new meaning to the term “baseball boy”).
- SKM!
- Mysterious door between the Earth Defense clubroom and the Seitokai room? Sign me up.
- Plenty of An-chan at last, and he delivers (the brotherly love). His fraternal devotion is so great that he sees right through Yumoto’s camo.
- That’s not what I thought Goura was going to do with those negi.
- Hints of more An-chan to come – Wombat’s “I wish I could recruit him” and Prez’ “Who is that man?”
- Yumoto turning into the idealized moe kouhai because he puts on glasses, which he needs because he barely has a fever.
- “His motives for fighting are so absurd that I can’t predict his next move!”
- The Love Fighters finally appreciating Yumoto’s value in a fight – but only when he gets so deeply into-character that he’s too scared to transform.
- Megane-Yumoto saying “It’s indecent!” to Wombat’s attempts to bribe him by offering unlimited cuddling pretty much verifies what I’ve been saying about that all along.
- Our Goldfish finally has a name (Hireashi) – and an Osaka-ben.
- Goldfish talking about eating sushi in Ginza.
- Any show that has a cast member from Speed Racer is OK in my book. And Ohtake Hiroshi (Sanpei, AKA Chim-Chim) is Hireashi. And judging by the preview, it seems Hireashi may be in-league with Zundar, and possibly even his boss.

March 12, 2015 at 7:22 amThis series is literally just balls to the walls outright insane every single episodes. Like there are some moments where I don't know what to do besides just sit there shaking my head and repeating omfg over and over. It's great, don't get me wrong, but it's just so…OUT THERE. Like this is way off in crazy parody land, even more so than most gag series.

March 12, 2015 at 7:35 amThe choice of Yonaga Tsubasa as as Me/ga/wa rui, the moe boy who is afraid his character will get overshadowed is sheer genius considering how much Yumoto looks like a Free! Nagisa clone 😀

March 12, 2015 at 10:15 amActually there is some tradition of warm cooked onions bandages when it comes to colds and phlegm decongestion. I do doubt onion sprouts – don't those look more leeks btw? – are supposed to stick out of wrapping cloth like that though X,DD.
No one has checked that door (yet). And they were perfectly fine leaving the teacher's body (corpse?) under the shelves like that. Ooooh boy.
Wombat's cuddling offer and Goldfish's Joker smile were my two most LOL moments.
