The 2012 Eisner nominations for manga have been announced. Interestingly, the two manga I’m currently blogging – Hourou Musuko (Wandering Son) and Otoyomegatari (Brides Story) – were both nominated. Good job, Eisner Committee!

April 9, 2012 at 6:51 pmis Brides Story any good? I've been thinking about reading it for the longest time and the art looks amazing, but the concept isn't very enticing….

April 9, 2012 at 6:57 pmI can't speak to whether you'll enjoy the premise – I certainly do – but the artwork is every bit as amazing as you think. I'd say give it a few chapters and see what you think. I find the human interaction extremely realistic, and the insight into another culture fascinating.

April 9, 2012 at 7:03 pmI watched the Hourou Musuko anime a while ago and enjoyed it. After seeing your posts about the manga i decided to pick it up and loved it! The author's other long running series "Aoi Hana" is also very good. I always have a sweet spot for stories covering unconventional romance.
