I think Coach Sakaki might have caught wind of the news since he is a former coach and would have been close to the upper management in Seido. He probably believes Kataoka sincerely loves teaching the team too, but given his stoic character (as we already see from his past), he would have felt he has no right to teach the kids even if he wanted to. Looking forward to seeing Coach Sakaki's role by the way. All the rival schools had decent coaches with a good mind in the baseball game so it's good to see how Seido handles them
