April 9, 2025 at 6:17 amIs this a joke? The Chimera Ant arc is awful. Generic villains with zero motivation that have their massive power levels handed to them out of plot convenience, and it goes on for way too long for such a basic and bland premise. The whole thing is just “Fight evil monsters but one becomes slightly less evil by playing board games”, and it’s one of the most insufferable experiences I’ve had with a manga (except for maybe HxH’s current arc, which is also incredibly boring). Overall, the art and story are so bad that I don’t get why shonen fans are so obsessed with it. It feels like the epitome of “please ignore that nothing of substance is actually going on here!”
