I’m not a miracle worker (needless to say). There’s not a lot I can do with a chapter that was six pages and about 2 lines of dialogue. It was pretty, it sets the stage for the end of the race, but that’s about all I got. Still, these Otoyomegatari chapters come along so rarely I didn’t want to just ignore it (though I suppose I could have done a double-post, as I have on occasion). 102 (“Finish Line Part 2”, presumably) is supposedly going to be a lot longer, so hopefully that will give me more to work with.

March 11, 2022 at 2:11 pmConsidering the lack of content in this chapter, this is probably the most appropriate post to ask: Is the anime of Emma a worthy substitute for the manga? Does it cover the whole story the manga tells? And whatever it DOES cover, does it do faithfully or is it better to skip it and go directly for the manga?

March 11, 2022 at 2:44 pmHonestly no idea. I don’t think it covers the whole manga though.

March 11, 2022 at 11:58 pmFor the ending, the anime goes to a bit of a different angle at some point and an original ending. But the main points and relationships are somewhat preserved. I like both, to be honest. They just take different paths and stories to get to the ending.

March 12, 2022 at 8:16 am@Marty: manga all the way for me. Especially because there are three volumes of extras rounding up both Emma’s and the other cast members’ stories. The anime is pleasant enough but Mori’s artwork is a tough one to render and in Emma starting with volume #3 manga>>>>>anime visuals (around volume 3 it’s where Mori’s art levelled up to her current standards, especially the characters’ eyes came alive and Details IntensifiedTM).
