Coffee time…
In the never-ending uphill battle to make Lostinanime.com viable financially, I’m always looking for new weapons to deploy. I’d been thinking about Ko-Fi (or one if its competitors) for a while. On the one hand there’s certainly overlap with LiA’s existing support streams Patreon and Paypal. Those are great and I’m sticking with them. But I decided to add Ko-Fi to the mix for a couple of reasons. In a sense it effectively combines the best features of Paypal and Patreon…
- You can do quick and easy one-time tips any time you like – just press the button.
- You can also become a monthly subscriber, as is the case with those other services. But it’s super-easy here and a bit different from Patreon. There, LiA’s monthly patrons support the site on a per-post basis, with whatever monthly cap they choose. On Ko-Fi, you just set a flat monthly contribution level – whatever amount you like.
I’m hugely grateful to everyone who supports me on Patreon and Paypal, and I hope you’ll continue to do so. Ko-Fi just gives you a new way to support – if you find a post especially useful and want to register your appreciation, if you want to do a flat monthly pledge, whatever. Ko-Fi – like Patreon – offers the option for tiered support benefits. I’ve long considered it, believe me – but I’ve resisted the concept of premium content for as long as possible and for now, I still will. I can’t say it’s off the table for the future – if I want the site to survive, it’s an option I have to seriously consider.
Lastly, let me express my sincere appreciation to everyone who reads and comments – you make this all worthwhile. Of course the YouTube channel is out there and doing well – I’d certainly be very grateful if you’d subscribe to me over there if you haven’t already.
Stay frosty,
Enzo
