Kind of a low-key episode of Tenchi Souzou Design-bu this week, but enter-cational as always.
- I suppose I should have known what the animal with ribs outside the body was all along, but somehow I didn’t think “turtle” right away.
- To that end, it’s very interesting watching these creatures be built from the ground up. Effectively, breaking evolution down as if it were a conscious process (which I suppose could be interpreted as a religious viewpoint, though I don’t think it’s intended that way).
- Who knew frogs didn’t have ribs? And that was my first experience with the poisonous rib-shooting newt.
- Manakin birds? Likewise new to me. Heck, I don’t think I even knew what “lekking” was.
- Lekking, by the way, is communal courtship display on a shared “battlefield of love”.
- Was that a seiyuu in-joke with Enoki Junya and the “you seem to know a lot about rap battles?” thing?
- Rap battles as a kind of courtship display is pretty on the money, I have to say.
- That leg thing with the frogs was hilarious. Edutainment at its best.
- Seals inflating their noses, that I kind of knew. But I never knew that giant red thing was the septum. I don’t care what anybody says, that has to hurt.
