No huge surprises here, as Boku no Hero Academia S4 cruised to a win despite a very competitive field. It’s hard to argue with success – three seasons of consistent Bones quality is a pretty effective campaign commercial. The series is about to become the studio’s longest-running project ever, so congrats to everyone involved.
Reflecting what a potentially packed season Fall 2019 is, almost twice as many readers voted as did in summer. It’s sequel-heavy and the sequels did very well, but there are lots of other series that look potentially interesting (or better), with Beastars and (surprisingly) Babylon ranking the highest. For comparison’s sake, the current top 5 (all sequels) in the RC polling is:
- Boku no Hero Academia 4
- SAO Whatever-Whatever
- Fate/Ad Infinitum
- Psycho-Pass 3
- Chihayafuru 3

October 5, 2019 at 7:26 pmReally glad to see Babylon placing so high. I wasn’t expecting it at all but I’m glad to see I’m not the only one that has high expectations for it. My other top pick of the season is (was?) Pet, but I’m starting to really fear that we are not getting it this season at all (I mean, we are already on the 5th of October and no info whatsoever about airing date or even animated PV) That’s truly a bummer because I was legit hyped for it 🙁

October 6, 2019 at 9:04 amAre you planning to cover Chihayafuru this season? I remember you got pretty fed up with the manga at some point and stopped reading…used to look forward to your Chihayafuru posts on RC back in seasons 1 and 2.

October 6, 2019 at 9:54 amI’ll cover it, because (unless they skip it) the anime is about to hit one of my favorite arcs from the manga. After that though… I really started to have major problems with the manga. It’s going to be a tough call.

October 7, 2019 at 5:58 amPeople sure still watching Psycho Pass? Season 1 was one of my favorite of that year but I couldn’t even stomach more than half of season 2 first episode…
