I suspect Senryuuu Shoujo is going to prove a problematical show to blog. It’s half-length, it’s pretty fuwa fuwa by nature, and I don’t necessarily see a lot of dynamics movement in the plot forthcoming. It might be a good candidate for a digest post, but doesn’t have a natural dance partner on Saturdays. Maybe I’ll just tweet out a senryuu every week…
I will say this much – we get considerably more romantic complication than I expected that quickly. An older osananajimi who’s in love with Eiji, the club prez possibly having feelings for one (or both) the main couple. It’s the childhood friend, Koto, who’s the most overtly involved since she openly admits to the Kaichou that she has feelings for Eiji. That said, she seems to realize that Nanano and Eiji are a fait accompli and unwilling to be an obstacle, which will hopefully spare us the sort of drama I would prefer this series steered clear of.
Apart from that there’s not a lot going on here in terms of pure plot. Eiji wants to be more popular (which I see as a healthy sign), and Nanako thinks she’s getting fat. Of course she does because Eiji notes that she’s getting round around the middle, which proves his lack of social skills more than anything. There’s a bit of misunderstanding comedy around Eiji thinking Nanano’s diet training is about snapping his neck and a couple amusing poems, but mostly just amiable idyll and low-key shipping between the two leads. That seems to be what Senryuu Shoujo is, for better (mostly) or worse.
