It was one of the closest votes in LiA history, with Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu just edging out Mob Psycho 100 (that was exactly what I predicted – just ask Zephyr). Just for gits and shiggles, I put the LiA and Random Curiosity results in a spreadsheet – LiA is on the left, RC on the right. It’s an interesting comparison – four of the top five are common to both lists, and Boku Dake, Boku no Hero and Haikyuu are at the same spot. But get past that and things are radically different. Our #1 series (Rakugo) barely cracked the RC Top 10, and the RC #1 series (Re:Zero) was 8th on the LiA list. Some of the shows you’d expect to be much higher at LiA (Udon no Kuni, Fune wo Amu, Shounen Maid, Concrete Revolutio et al) definitely were (over 40 places in some instances) – and vice-versa.
But if there’s one thing I’m especially proud of, it’s this – Keijo!!!!!!! was all the way up in 30th Place at RC. At LiA, it got exactly 1 vote. Please know I wouldn’t trade you guys for any other anime audience in the world.

Mob Psycho 100 was my second too, so I match the opinion of the readers pretty perfectly there (still haven’t seen Yuri on Ice though). Outside of JoJo’s, everything I voted for made the top ten (the other two were Erased & Haikyuu!!). Guess I at least match with RC better with JoJo’s. & lol at Keijo!!

I can pretty much guarantee you that they wouldn’t have ranked as high as they did in any other viewer poll (luv ya, Guys).

I was quite tempted to vote more than once just so my other faves could get some love.

January 17, 2017 at 12:16 pmI didn’t really get into Keijo!!! but I don’t know if it deserves this much hate either – the fanservice looked so over the top and ridiculous it kind of went around and got funny again, and for the rest it seemed like yet another shonen-y over-the-top sports show (granted, for an invented sport, but still). Nothing too impressive but a far shot from the vilest offer of the year.

January 17, 2017 at 2:28 pmI thought Keijo!!! was pretty funny. Obviously it wasn’t in my top 10, but it wasn’t terrible, or even had really. I guess it comes down to whether you see a lot of fanservice as an inherently negative trait, or if it’s still a tool that can be used effectively or not.

January 19, 2017 at 1:38 amKeijo was probably my wife’s favorite show of year, she however does have a fascination for butts. The main character, Nozomi, actually gets some development and has a refreshingly direct and rational view of herself and her ambitions.
