Tsurezure Children – 07

Along with Koi to Uso, I think Tsurezure Children is the other series that’s going to drop from the rotation.  I won’t swear to it, mainly because it falls on a modestly slow part of the week but also because I still more or less enjoy it, but that’s the direction in which I’m leaning right now.

Why?  Well…  It’s getting kind of same-y, to be honest.  The couples aren’t progressing all that much, and now that I know they’re in high school some of the behavior seems a bit silly.  The chapters continue to be a mixed bag (really – that there are still people that find the brocon imouto trope funny depresses the hell out of me).  And as a half-length show, it’s not always easy to find enough material around which to build a post.  Maybe if Youkai Apato falls short of what I’m expecting these two might end up as a pairing in a digest post, but I wouldn’t bet on it at this moment in time.

That said, there’s still stuff I like here.  And if we see the Dating Master every week, so much the better because he genuinely cracks me up.

Well, even without the brocon part, being hyperprotective or jealous of a sibling isn’t that farfetched… I don’t think the point is finding it funny in itself (“hahaha it’s funny ‘cos she’s infatuated with her brother!”), just that here it’s used as a pretext for some overall fun gags – though this week’s was not the most original, it got us a chance to see red haired girl in her full on trolling mode.

  2. Yeah, but that’s just a reminder that pairing is effectively the same joke, over and over.

Aww it would be sad if you drop this show. It’s slim pickings this season and this is one of the few shows that I actually look forward to.. everything else is meh for me.
