These little snips of Letter Bee continue to amuse. The irony of this release is that Niche & Steak are pretty much identical in chibi form to their regular form. The topic of the first mini-episode this week is “Dingoes”, and the second focuses on the much-rumored arrival of a transfer student (we know he rides a motorcycle – hint, hint) but the real purpose of these is to humiliate Thunderland as much as possible. Lag keeps up his perfect record of crying in every one (were there eps of the regular series where he didn’t?) and at this point they’ve managed to work in just about all the important cast members. It’s not the subversive genius of the Oreimo character commentaries, but these Academy eps make a pleasant addition to the Letter Bee mythos.
